MET GALA 2022: Highlights From a Night of ‘Gilded Glamour

Affectionately referred to as “fashion’s biggest night out,” the Met Gala 2022 is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The event welcomes stars, young creatives, and industry paragons.

Undoubtedly fashion’s biggest night, The Met Gala has finally made its return with this year’s theme being “Gilded Glamour”. From mile-long trains to blinding sparkle, below, find some of the most memorable stars from this year’s first Monday in May.

Blake Lively in Custom Atelier Versace

The Gossip Girl alum was a definite head-turner in her custom Atelier Versace gown that dramatically transformed on the red carpet. Crediting New York City architecture as the inspiration for her one-of-a-kind dress, she worked closely with Donatella Versace in the creation of the garment.

Hailey Bieber in Saint Laurent

Mrs. Bieber rode solo yesterday as she made her way through the Met steps in a Saint Laurent number inspired by Jerry Hall. A fairly muted ensemble amidst much extravagance, she explained in an interview with Emma Chamberlain that she wanted something effortless while doing her best to stay on theme.

Khloé Kardashian in Moschino

For her very first Met Gala appearance, Khloé Kardashian arrived in a gold Moschino piece paired with black satin gloves and a ruffled sleeve.

Olivia Rodrigo in Versace

Now her second Met Ball, Olivia Rodrigo was a vision in purple in this ethereal Versace number. Reminiscent of Greek sea nymphs with her voluminous wavy hair topped with butterflies, and even a dash of 70’s disco-glam with her smokey eye make-up, the “good 4 u” singer paired the look with lavender gloves and platform heels.

Gigi Hadid in Versace

One of the event’s most awaited guests, Gigi Hadid made an entrance in her Versace look which featured a bright red corset top and an extravagant puffer jacket. The supermodel also matched the make-up with her look, opting for a bold lip and slicked-back hair.

Bella Hadid in Burberry

A gothic take on this year’s theme, Bella Hadid walked the carpet in Burberry by Riccardo Tisci, showing off her lace stockings through her draped skirt’s slit that was paired with a leather bodice. The supermodel, who attended her first Met ball back in 2015, tied the look together with a simple side-braid and muted make-up.
